The User Feedback Group (UFG) will be an important step for the internal verification of the EPOS ICS system. Feedback collected from domain experts (scientists) at the workshop will contribute to the further development of the ICS system and its preparation for the operational phase of EPOS. Engaged experts are scientists that work within multiple disciplines, and they are external to EPOS so that they are not biased toward possible IT solutions and the TCS-ICS interaction in the system’s background. The
outcome of this workshop will guide further development work toward the public release of the EPOS Data Portal. Prior to the public release, this development work will be validated in September 2019 by an external expert panel (to be appointed by EPOS-ERIC-GA).
The three aims of the workshop are: (i) to test the available functionality of the EPOS website interface (ICS GUI) within predefined tasks (collected from TCS use cases during the February TCS-ICS workshop) by domain experts, (ii) to monitor the interaction of the experts with the system, and collect feedback on the usability of the system (appearance, functionality, performance, bugs, etc.) by filling in an evaluation form (electronic questionnaire and comments), and (iii) to collect a list of deliverables for improving the system and to prioritize these toward the September milestone.
